An interesting little museum. Can't go wrong for the $5 USD price of admission and a nice little gift shop. Catch the Petersburg history video (~20 minutes), preferably before viewing the gallery. It will provide a little context, which helps for the unlabeled pieces in the collection. Be sure to open the drawers and cabinets at the "Discovery Center." The photo books full of WWII Coast Guard ID pictures may have been my favorite.
